Sweet potato chips

I happen to love chips/fries but it’s just not good you. Besides the ‘healthy’ variaties they sell in the Netherlands (chips made from corn, carrot and beans) I wanted to make chips from different veggies. What ingredient is better suitable for chips than sweet potato? Nothing right? I decided to put my fries cutter to work (it really works better with a sharp knife but I just think of it as a proper work out) and made my own chips (without a deep fryer that is). You should try this simple recipe for sweet potato chips too!

Ingredients for sweet potato chips:

  • Sweet potato
  • Fresh rosemary
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Fries/chip cutter or just a sharp knife

Preheat the oven to 180 c/350 F. Rinse the sweet potato and cut it into chips/fries shape (technically just long strokes).

Cover a baking tray with parchment paper and place the sweet potato on top of it. Drizzle a bit of olive oil on it (it doesn’t hurt if the potato start to shine a bit), add fresh rosemary and some sea salt.

Place the baking tray in the oven for about 40 minutes and you’re good to go.

Enjoy your food or as we say in Dutch: eet smakelijk!
