Strawberry sushi with lactose free cream cheese
Lots of people think that sushi can only exist out of rice and fish but that’s not true. Anything that has a small bowl/roll of rice that’s topped with anything can be called sushi. If you don’t feel like fish, but feel like having sushi why don’t you try this strawberry sushi with lactose free cream cheese? It’s so good, I’m getting hungry already!
Ingredients:
- sushi rice
- fresh strawberries
- nori sheets
- lactose free cream cheese
- optional: fresh basil
You’ll also need:
- bamboo mat
Preparation of the strawberry sushi:
Prepare the sushi rice like you would normally do (I always use a rice cooker and don’t add any vinegar or sugar to it).
Place a sheet of nori on the bamboo mat en cover a part of it (1/2 for a whole sheet, 2/3 when using half a sheet) with rice. Spread the cream cheese in the middle of the rice and cover it up with chopped strawberries. Roll it up and cut into 8 equal pieces.
Serve with soy sauce on the side (warning: soy sauce may contain gluten)
Enjoy your meal or as we say in Dutch: “Eet smakelijk!”
