Honey baked pineapple
Sometimes I feel like having fruit as a side dish with my dinner. This week I had one of those days. Couple days earlier I went to a market and stumbled upon really cheap pineapple (which actually means: I had to buy one). I love fresh pineapple but for some weird reason it makes my entire mouth itch! You’re probably thinking why on earth I would buy a fresh pineapple if I can’t eat it? Well, it turns out that if I use it in a dish where it’s heathen up I can eat it. As I still felt like having fruit with my dinner I decided to try some honey baked pineapple and it was good! It’s a lovely side wish with nice twist.
When you think of honey baked things you can pretty much bake everything in honey and it would still be delicious. Think of honey baked apple or bacon? I’m thinking yes.
- Fresh pineapple
- Thyme (preferably fresh)
Preparation of honey baked pineapple:
Chop the pineapple into small chunks and place them in a bowl. Drizzle some honey over it and add fresh thyme leaves. Make sure you mix all the ingredients well. Grab a small frying pan and fry the pineapple (don’t use any oil) until the chunks soften and turn a bit darker.
That’s it! I’m a fan hopefully you’re one too!
